On July 28th, the spot market for chemical fiber raw materials generally showed a stable but downward trend. The weak demand from the textile industry during the off-season was the main factor suppressing the market. The transaction atmosphere for each category of the polyester industry was sluggish. On that day, the spot price of PTA dropped by 25 yuan per ton, the price of polyester POY filament fell by 100 yuan per ton, and the price of polyester staple fiber also slightly declined. Only the spot price of ethylene glycol rose slightly. The chemical fiber sector as a whole lacked upward momentum.

Previously, polyester filament fibers underwent multiple rounds of continuous inventory reduction. The factory inventories have dropped to the lowest level of the year. Upstream polyester producers have a willingness to maintain prices, but the purchasing willingness of the downstream weaving sector remains persistently low. The operating rates of looms in Jiangsu and Zhejiang are at a low level, and the digestion speed of raw fabrics is slow. Weaving enterprises are all making sporadic replenishments based on demand and have basically halted large-scale stockpiling and purchasing. The daily production and sales rate of polyester filament factories only maintains at a level of 20-30%. The market for viscose staple fibers remains stable. The market mainly focuses on delivering previous old orders and there is no obvious fluctuation in price.
