During the operation of the Polypropylene spinning machine, carding is a common abnormality in the workshop. Once it occurs, it not only disrupts the production rhythm, but also, if not handled properly, it is likely to scratch the precision components such as the spinneret and the guide roller, increasing the loss of spare parts. Familiarizing oneself with the standard handling procedures and taking preventive measures in advance can stabilize the continuous production state of the polypropylene filament spinning machine.

The first step is to look for the cause from the temperature aspect. The melting temperature window of polypropylene is relatively concentrated. When the temperature of the spinning box is too low, the melt flow is insufficient, and hard head filaments are likely to form at the spinneret holes, eventually blocking the outlet. On-site, you can observe the filament state: if the melt descends slowly by its own weight and the filament bundle has dull luster, it is likely to require a slight adjustment of the spinning temperature. However, the temperature should not go to the other extreme; if it is too high, the melt viscosity will be too low, and the filament strength will decrease, making it more likely to get tangled and knotted on the guide roller.

The second step is to check the raw materials and feeding conditions. Incomplete drying of the chips is an easily overlooked factor. When chips with a high moisture content enter the screw, the melt contains air bubbles, and the filament breaks and gets frayed during stretching. The accumulated frayed fibers will eventually form a carding block at a certain guide point. Additionally, pay attention to whether the screw feeding quantity matches the output quantity. When the feeding is greater than the output, the melt may form a loop in the feeding area, hindering the normal transportation of the chips.

The third step is to check whether the mechanical channels are smooth. Once the coking or oil stains accumulate on the surface of the guide roller and the hot roller, the resistance of the filament running will significantly increase. Regularly cleaning the accumulated filaments on the stretching roller and the guide components can reduce the probability of carding significantly. If the cross-moving mechanism of the winding head is worn or has poor sliding, the filament will also be partially stacked. At this time, it is necessary to check the belt tension and the position of the guide roller.

After the carding is handled and production is resumed, it is recommended to briefly record this phenomenon and the troubleshooting process. Which machine position, what temperature, and what raw material batch were involved, accumulated together will become the own fault reference table of this workshop. In the next time when encountering similar situations, the judgment speed will be much faster. The stability of the equipment is never achieved through a major overhaul once; it is achieved through the timely adjustment of these daily small problems.
