The establishment of the Yangtze River Delta Textile Technology Research Institute marks that Qiaoqiao has added another international collaborative innovation platform that is market-oriented and supported by industry-university-research cooperation.

Currently, the textile industry in the Yangtze River Delta is undergoing a transformation from "scale expansion" to "quality and efficiency improvement". There is an increasing demand for green, intelligent and high value-added features. Leveraging the cluster advantages of the global textile industry core area in Qiaochang, combined with the resources of Shaoxing Jie Xuan, Soochow University of Textiles, and the China-Europe Fashion Research Institute, the combination of "research, education, production and application + international connection" of the Yangtze River Delta Textile Science and Technology Research Institute not only deepens the regional cluster advantages, but also systematically reconfigures the industrial innovation ecosystem. If the actual industry demands can be accurately matched and the division of labor system of "research in Soochow University, pilot production in Jie Xuan, and mass production in the cluster" can be implemented, it will efficiently accelerate the industrialization and large-scale application of scientific and technological innovation achievements.

The textile industries in each province of the Yangtze River Delta have their own focuses: Shanghai mainly focuses on fashion design and trade, Jiangsu and Zhejiang excel in product manufacturing and brand building, and Anhui has advantages in raw material supply and cost control. The core significance of the research institute lies in integrating the advantageous resources of these regions to help the textile industry of the Yangtze River Delta achieve a "value chain leap". The ultimate goal of the tripartite cooperation model is to break through the limitations of "single institution cooperation" and form a self-circulating and continuously growing innovative ecosystem. As long as the concept of openness and sharing is adhered to, "boundary barriers" are broken, a diversified participation network is constructed, and "value distribution" is restructured, the innovation momentum can be activated and an ecological positive cycle of "mutual value increase" can be achieved.

Although the textile industry in the Yangtze River Delta has a solid foundation, there are still technical bottlenecks in key areas such as high-end fibers, green manufacturing, and intelligent equipment. The research institute, guided by the market sense of enterprises to determine the direction of innovation, builds a technical foundation with the research strength of universities, and enhances the ecological pattern with the resources of international institutions.
