The heating components of the polypropylene spinning machine are centered around the spinning box heating system and the stretching hot rolls. These two components work together to provide stable temperature control for the polymer melt molding and the optimization of the filament bundle. They are indispensable key components in the spinning process.
The spinning box heating system is responsible for maintaining the melt temperature and regulating the temperature. It is equipped with electric heating elements, usually a mixture of biphenyl and diphenyl ether or a heat transfer oil as the heat carrier to transfer heat. The exterior of the box is wrapped with an 80 to 100 millimeter thick insulation layer, filled with high-temperature-resistant materials such as rock wool and silica aerogel, which can reduce heat loss and control the surface temperature of the outer layer within a reasonable range, avoiding any impact on the production environment. This system adopts a zone heating design and achieves a ±1℃ temperature control accuracy through closed-loop PID control, ensuring uniform temperature during the distribution and flow of the melt and guaranteeing the stability of filament quality.
The stretching hot rollers are used for heating and shaping during the filament stretching stage. Common heating methods include resistance wire heating and electromagnetic induction heating. The resistance wire heating hot rollers have a simple structure and transfer heat through the heating of the resistance wire; the electromagnetic induction heating hot rollers adopt efficient temperature uniformity technology, with more uniform temperature distribution, outstanding energy-saving performance, and some products can achieve a temperature control accuracy of ±0.5℃, suitable for high-speed spinning requirements. The surface of the hot rollers is often treated with a ceramic coating to enhance wear resistance and heat conductivity, and can operate stably within a temperature range of 50 to 350℃.
With technological advancements, the traditional phenolic boiler heating has gradually been replaced by direct heating with electric heating rods, significantly improving the heating efficiency and safety. The performance of these two types of heating components directly affects the strength, toughness and uniformity of polypropylene filament. Their stable operation is an important prerequisite for reducing waste filament rate and controlling production costs. They are widely applicable to various production lines such as polypropylene FDY and POY.
