Recently, the Quality Enhancement Action for the Sewing Equipment Industry and the Standard Promotion Conference were held in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, which is known as the "Capital of Sewing Equipment Manufacturing in China". This conference was organized by the Taizhou Quality Safety Testing Institute for Products and the Zhejiang Province Sewing Machine Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. Industry experts, complete machine and component enterprises, and testing institution representatives gathered to focus on the quality improvement of sewing equipment, the implementation of new standards, and the construction of enterprises' quality control capabilities, conducting special publicity and technical exchanges to promote the transformation of the standard system into practical momentum for industrial quality improvement and efficiency enhancement.

Taizhou is a global core cluster of sewing equipment manufacturing, with a large number of leading sewing machinery enterprises and component manufacturers. Its industrial scale and export volume rank among the top in the country, and it is also an important region for the formulation and pilot implementation of domestic sewing machinery national and industry standards. This conference focused on the recently released multiple sewing machinery industry standards, and mainly carried out detailed interpretations of standards such as "Inspection Rules for Sewing Machinery Products", "Sewing Machinery Terminology and Control System Terminology", "Energy Consumption Test Methods for Sewing Machinery - Part 3: Seam Binding Sewing Machines", and "Energy Consumption Test Methods for Sewing Machinery - Part 4: Clothing Production Hanging and Conveying System".

The experts delivering the standard explanations provided systematic explanations from aspects such as the background of standard formulation, core technical clauses, test methods, determination rules, and implementation key points. For the energy consumption series of standards, they focused on explaining the energy consumption test conditions, data collection, and calculation methods for seam binding machines and clothing hanging and conveying systems, providing practical guidance for enterprises to conduct energy-saving evaluations and product energy efficiency benchmarking. For the two basic standards of inspection rules and control system terminology, they clarified the sampling determination processes for factory and type tests, unified the definitions of professional terms for electrical control systems, and eliminated industry pain points such as inconsistent terminology and differences in quality determination standards during research, testing, and trade.

The conference also deployed the Quality Enhancement Action for the Sewing Equipment Industry. Focusing on common shortcomings of enterprises such as product quality control, component consistency, reliability of electrical control systems, safety performance, and energy optimization, it proposed quality improvement paths. During the meeting, there was an enterprise exchange and discussion session, where representatives of participating enterprises consulted on new product type tests, export product compliance, green and energy-saving product development, and practical problems encountered in standard implementation. Experts provided on-site answers, promoting enterprises to establish a quality management system of "research and benchmarking against standards, production following standards, and inspection based on standards".
