The ceremony for Jiang Zaihong, a master of Chinese arts and crafts and a national-level intangible cultural heritage representative inheritor of Xiang embroidery, to take on an apprentice was held here. Xu Hongyan, the first master of arts and crafts in Changsha City and a representative inheritor of the municipal-level intangible cultural heritage of cheongsong-making skills, submitted a letter of apprenticeship and officially became an apprentice.

When the stitches of Xiang embroidery are embroidered into the texture of cheongsams, the two intangible cultural heritages are jointly writing a new chapter of Hunan's revitalization of traditional craftsmanship. At the ceremony site, Xu Hongyan, holding the apprenticeship letter in her hands, sincerely confessed her original intention of cross-border inheritance. Jiang Zaihong took the apprenticeship letter and gave Xu Hongyan on-site guidance on the basic needling techniques of Xiang embroidery. With the rise and fall of the needle tip, the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage was clearly carried forward. This is also the first time that this master, who has cultivated many talents in Xiang embroidery, has held a formal ceremony to take on apprentices.

This master-apprentice connection stems from the natural alignment and consensus on the inheritance of the two major intangible cultural heritages. Among the eight major techniques of Hunan-style cheongsams, embroidery has always been included. Xu Hongyan's cross-border identity has become a key link for inheritance and innovation. The cheongsams she designed once incorporated elements of Hunan-style embroidery such as hibiscus flowers and the ripples of the Xiangjiang River into the front of the garment, making traditional clothing both culturally rich and modern in beauty.

In recent years, she has promoted the popularization of Xiang embroidery among the general public by simplifying the production process and innovating raw materials. This time, taking on an apprentice is a precise layout - through Xu Hongyan's practice in creating cheongsams, Xiang embroidery can break through the limitations of decorative paintings and return to the daily necessities market.
