On the afternoon of July 8th, a promotion meeting for the construction of the joint laboratory of the National Key Laboratory of Bionic Interface Materials Science, the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Multimodal Digital Twin Technology, and Suzhou Hancheng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. was held in Shengze Town. This conference, with the core of deepening the collaborative innovation among industry, academia and research, aims to promote technological breakthroughs and industrial upgrading in the field of new textile materials, and inject strong technological impetus into Shengze's efforts to build a world-class high-end silk textile industrial cluster. Academician Jiang Lei of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the National Key Laboratory of the University of Science and Technology of China, Xu Jiming, director of the Suzhou Science and Technology Bureau, and district leaders Chen Qi and Chen Yu attended the meeting.
Jiang Lei elaborated on the planning of the Advanced Bionic New Materials Joint Laboratory. This laboratory is led by the Suzhou Advanced Research Institute of the University of Science and Technology of China, jointly established with Soochow University and Beihang University. It was officially approved at the end of 2024 and has over 120 regular researchers, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 20 national-level outstanding talents and more than 50 national-level young talents. He stated that the laboratory will fully leverage its global leading position in the research of super-wetted interface materials, focus on the original research and development of new textile materials, break through the technical bottlenecks of high-end fabrics through bionic means, enhance the technological content and green level of products, and help Shengze textile products move towards the high end of the industrial chain and value chain.
