Polypropylene FDY spinning machine process principle: From melt extrusion to one-time orientation crystallization

The polypropylene FDY spinning machine adopts an integrated one-step spinning and stretching process, which is different from POY (spinning first and then external stretching); the core principle is: PP chip is melted and extruded → cooled to form primary filament → multi-level hot rollers in the machine perform synchronous high-speed stretching + heat setting → directly wind the finished high-oriented long filament. The entire process is continuous without intermediate drop tubes, and the macromolecules complete the orientation crystallization in one go. The finished product has high strength, low boiling water shrinkage, and uniform filament quality. 

Summary of the Core Process Principles of polypropylene FDY spinning machine

Melt spinning basics: Utilizing the thermoplastic property of polypropylene, it undergoes a high-temperature transformation into a flowable melt, which is extruded through small holes to form fine filaments;

One-step FDY core mechanism: Spinning and thermal stretching are integrated into one process. Before the initial filament is completely relaxed, it is immediately subjected to thermal stretching. The macromolecules achieve a high degree of orientation and crystallization at once. Compared to the two-step POY + external drawing process, it has lower energy consumption, smaller filament CV value, and more stable shrinkage;

Thermal roller temperature control and speed coupling logic: Temperature provides the ability for molecular movement, and the difference in roller speed provides the stretching force. The matching of these two determines the three core physical properties of fibers: strength, elongation, and shrinkage;

Cooling and oiling auxiliary mechanism: Uniform cooling ensures the regularity of the filament cross-section; The oil agent eliminates static electricity and improves the friction between the filament and the equipment, which is a prerequisite for stabilizing high-speed drawing.

The PP chips are melted and plasticized by the screw at high temperature, then quantitatively transported by the metering pump.
