During the screw extrusion process, the temperature gradient setting of each heating zone is of vital importance. It is necessary to ensure that the polypropylene melt reaches the ideal rheological state - it should be fully plasticized, uniform and stable, while avoiding thermal degradation due to excessively high temperatures or overly long residence times. The stability of the temperature in the spinning box and the pressure of the components is directly related to the fact that the melt fine flow extruded from each spinneret hole has the same initial conditions. This is the first step to ensure the uniformity of the filament strip.
The stability of the cooling and forming process cannot be ignored. The air supply mode, air velocity, air temperature and humidity of side blowing or ring blowing must be kept uniform, constant and symmetrical. Any turbulence of air flow or temperature and humidity differences will cause variations in the crystallization rate and structure of the filament bundle during cooling and curing. Such differences will be magnified in subsequent stretching and become potential factors affecting uneven fiber strength and dyeing streaks.
Hot stretching and hot setting are the keys to determining the core properties of fibers. The speed ratio of the two sets of hot rollers determines the stretching ratio, which directly affects the breaking strength and elongation of the fibers. The temperature of the hot roller controls the orientation and crystallization process of the macromolecular chains. Excessive stretching may cause the fibers to even break, while too little stretching cannot fully realize the potential of the fibers. The setting temperature and time determine the boiling water shrinkage rate, curling stability and dimensional stability of the subsequent processing of the fiber. These parameters need to be precisely matched and optimized according to the product specifications.
