"Use a line to form a granular circle, embroider a needle, form a 'seed', also known as 'seed', this stitch method is most suitable for expressing the stamen of flowers and the eyes of birds, animals, insects and fish..." On the 27th, in the Beijing embroidery studio in Shuyang Town, Xianghe County, Hebei Province, Wang Xuehui, a 64-year-old inheritor of Beijing embroidery skills, taught students embroidery stitches hand-in-hand.

In the studio, I saw students sitting around the embroidery stand, Wang Xuehui twisted the embroidery needle in her hand, a strand of silk thread as thin as a hair in her hand like a cloud flowing, picking a small grain one by one, after repeatedly threading the needle and thread, dotting into a line, with a line into a surface, a grainy and full of seeded embroidered lotus works outlined.

"Jing embroidery is an ancient traditional embroidery craft, as one of the 'Eight Absolute of Yanjing', it was once called the 'Four Great Embroidery' together with 'Su, Xiang and Gu'." Wang Xuehui said that after the Ming Dynasty, the characteristics of Beijing embroidery became more and more distinct, and in the Qing Dynasty, Beijing embroidery developed more prosperously, and even became famous overseas.

As a child, Wang Xuehui gradually liked embroidery under the infection and drive of his grandmother and mother. At the age of 16, Wang Xuehui entered the former Beijing White Paper Fang Embroidery Factory as an apprentice, and in 1980, the Xianghe Foreign Trade Bureau established an embroidery factory, since then she has been rooted in Xianghe and has been inheriting Beijing embroidery skills for more than 40 years.

Wang Xuehui explored a new way of inheriting and educating people in the "intangible cultural heritage" culture, accepted apprentices in the form of a studio, taught embroidery stitching at the Xianghe County Cultural Center for three consecutive years, and served as a teacher of embroidery classes in Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and other schools for seven consecutive years, cultivating successors of Beijing embroidery skills.

"Like this small flower on the purse, it is necessary to combine the three stitch methods of three-dimensional embroidery, spider web embroidery, and leaf embroidery, and the needle should be stable and the stitches should be even..." In the video teaching, Wang Xuehui carefully formulated the training plan and teaching course, changing the lecture-based course to a practical course, reducing explanations and increasing students' practical opportunities. Every ten minutes, she inserts a question and guides students to learn Beijing embroidery through Q&A.

As a craftsman, what Wang Xuehui wants to do is to attract more young people to join the Beijing embroidery talent team through his own efforts. Every year, Wang Xuehui will participate in the "Intangible Cultural Heritage" volunteer activities, bring Beijing embroidery into schools and enterprises, open classes, and teach techniques while showing.

"Some of the professor's students have opened their own clothing studios to create new Chinese costumes with a sense of contemporary fashion, which is a new interpretation of traditional culture and a seed of embroidery that I have sown in the hearts of young people." Wang Xuehui said that she is particularly willing to be such a sower, so that more young people can fall in love with Beijing embroidery and better spread and pass on the profound treasures of Chinese traditional culture.
